INTRODUCTION
RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. is a company with extensive professional experience, offering comprehensive design and engineering services to its clients. Founded by four owners in November 1991, the limited liability company has been operating for over three decades.
A RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. specializes in the design of transportation infrastructure, particularly in all levels of linear facilities (including examination, expert opinions, studies, permits, and construction).
In the design of bridges, especially for significant projects, RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. has been collaborating with a constant bridge design partner for years, jointly carrying out the design and coordination.
Additionally, RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. is a partial owner of another company specializing in geodesy.
A significant portion of RODEN Engineering Office Ltd.‘s activities involves the modernization and reinforcement planning of highways, expressways, and national roads. However, its design portfolio ranges widely from bicycle paths to railway lines and airport taxiways.
The plans are prepared comprehensively, along with sectional plans. Supplementary designs, environmental impact assessments, water management, utility protection, and network planning – including gas, telecommunications, low and high voltage, rainfall and wastewater channels, water pipes – as well as railway overhead lines, signaling equipment, traffic light designs, architectural designs, and geotechnical investigations and opinions are carried out partly by our own resources, and partly with the involvement of long-standing corporate partners.
To ensure more efficient and flexible service for clients and to handle planning works for geodetic and hydrocarbon pipelines concentrated in certain regions of the country, the company has opened branch offices.
The vast majority of direct clients of RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. have been administrative bodies of various ministries, but several municipalities, private companies, or construction firms also turn to the company with confidence.
Almost without exception, we win our assignments through competitive negotiations. Since the enactment of the Public Procurement Act, our Engineering Office has been competitive in terms of prices and meeting deadlines.
Our company participates in an average of 100 public procurement procedures annually.
RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. prepares and delivers approximately 50 independent designs to its clients each year. Among the completed designs, every phase of planning is included: preliminary design, study, permitting, execution, expropriation, land consolidation, geodetic, layout, and other design tasks, as well as road safety audits. A significant portion of the designs has already been realized, or the permitting plans have received construction permits.
RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. is well-prepared to apply computer-aided design and documentation, utilizing digital techniques for plan delivery, with the necessary hardware and software and highly trained colleagues.
The preparation of plans is fully digitized (in three-dimensional models), from surveying to the final documentation phase, which establishes a direct connection to the creation of visualizations and animations.
RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. actively participates in the construction phase of facilities based on the execution plans it has prepared, involving permitting, design management, and construction geodetic tasks.
Our office’s philosophy is that the task should not be carried out by large planning teams – which require difficult coordination – but by a smaller, cohesive team of specialist designers with broad knowledge and sensitivity to problem-solving. Therefore, the most optimal preparation required for designing technical facilities can be achieved. The involvement of experts in the respective fields and the comprehensive expertise of supervising design engineers are indispensable to this approach.
The number of employees in the office averages 60 annually, with about 60% being professionals with higher education. Emphasizing responsibility, lead designers must immerse themselves in the specific tasks and provide guidance to their design colleagues for detailed solutions.
To achieve this, continuous expansion of professional, technological, and computer knowledge, development of human resources, presence of supervisory expertise, possession, and continuous improvement and modernization of appropriate equipment are essential, along with ongoing participation in solving new engineering challenges. Our office invests significant amounts in the various specialized training, further education, and conference participation of its employees.
Office development is continuous. With a substantial annual budget allocated exclusively for this purpose, RODEN Engineering Office Ltd. belongs to the ranks of excellently equipped engineering offices. Beyond computerized infrastructure, modern equipment and vehicle fleet support geodetic measurements, on-site inspections, planning, data transfer during work, and documentation.
The office’s proficiency in information technology is outstanding. In addition to standard office software packages, our engineers work with general and specialized (MX, CIVIL 3D, Visum-Vissim) planning programs. The advantage of using these programs extends beyond immeasurable precision and stakeout capabilities to rapid adaptability, analyzability, facilitating and accelerating decision-making processes: flexibility and efficiency.
The advantage of using these programs goes beyond immeasurable precision and adjustability to quick adaptability, analyzability, facilitating the decision-making process, and accelerating it extraordinarily: flexibility and efficiency.
Through these programs, the entire space can be modeled in 3D, in multiple layers, with immediate queries of sections, masses, surfaces, creation of visualizations, and documentation.

LIFE AT RODEN
The management of RODEN Engineering Office ensures both the financial and other resources necessary for occasional or regular leisure activities for the employees after intensive work hours. At the same time, organized events are aimed at strengthening workplace cohesion.
On special occasions, we also organize garden parties in the internal parking lot of the office with a cheerful atmosphere of cooking and grilling in cauldrons.
These events are occasionally crowned by watching other sports events with the participation of Hungarian athletes on a screen set up in the garden.
Regular events include celebrations held on the last working day before Christmas, where besides cooking and baking, communal games take center stage, and after the ‘in-house’ gathering, there’s a bowling session until exhaustion.
Organized trips abroad with the participation of employees have almost become a tradition, where leisurely city tours sometimes intertwine with scheduled visits to professional facilities.
Regularly, during individual projects, there is a joint site visit as part of an excursion, or collectively touring a facility upon its completion.
Our colleagues, who form smaller groups of friends with an interest in active sports, occasionally organize outings for sledging, skiing, cycling, and hiking.
At football matches or tournaments organized by clients or contractors, the RODEN football team represents the company, proving that their performance extends beyond just work.
We provided tickets for our employees to attend a prominent national sports event in Hungary.
In addition to joint events, excursions, and workplace visits, the management pays great attention to making office life more comfortable, while also making work more efficient.
Parallel to the transition of the headquarters to geothermal heating, the larger, modernly equipped kitchen set up in the boiler room not only provides meals for the employees on-site but also facilitates the preparation of larger office events.
The established garden gazebo not only provides protection against rain but also serves as a pleasant setting for lunch gatherings, informal discussions, or even official negotiations, primarily during the summer months.
With the introduction of the digital plan repository, the company’s basement plan room has been phased out, paving the way for the establishment of a modern gym equipped with showers, toilets, and a restroom. This facility ensures physical refreshment for the staff after or before mental exertion.
For our engineering and other specialized staff who are part of the core team and perform excellent work, we provide company cars for their exclusive use. These vehicles not only support their activities for the company but also contribute to improving their personal lives.
After the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hungary in 2020, which greatly changed our office life and the possibility of the highlighted events mentioned earlier, we provided our employees with the option for temporary remote work. For those colleagues who continued to work on-site, we implemented emergency hygiene measures, ensuring the provision and replenishment of the necessary equipment. After two years of this situation, based on a survey conducted among our employees and the modernization of our IT infrastructure and network, we finalized the implementation of partial remote work.
Regardless of the state of emergency, in cooperation with our workplace doctor, we provide continuous health screenings for our employees on-site, primarily focusing on laboratory and ophthalmological examinations. The company covers a significant portion of the costs for any necessary eyeglasses. Additionally, we have acquired a defibrillator to primarily ensure the health and safety of our employees.
